Thank you for the invite to your reunion unfortunately I will not be able to attend. My summer is going to be full with family events and clearing out my parent's house and selling it. My father died in 2003 and mom died this past year. 1970-71 was my first year of teaching. I looked up the class of '71 in the year book and recognized many names and faces. I taught for 9 years in Granite and have many fond memories. I wish I could remember every student but my memory is not that good. In 1979 I moved to Durand, WI and have lived here ever since. I taught Family and Consumer Sciences (once known as Home Ec.) in Granite and here in Durand. In the 1980's I got a minor in Health Education and also taught Health and Safety classes here in Durand. All total I taught for 35 years, and retired in 2005. Since then I have done substitute teaching and spent lots of time with family and friends. My sister lives near LaCrosse WI so I go there often and my two of my nieces live in the Milwaukee area with their families and one niece and her family and a nephew live in the Green Bay area. All total I have 5 great nephews and 2 great nieces between the ages of 14 and 4. I like to go to see them as often as I can. My nieces and nephew have found memories of Granite Falls too as they came every year to stay with me for a week during the High School Rodeo time. Is that still held in Granite? I hope I hear from some of you.
