Dear Richard and Class,
Thank you for inviting me to your reunion - surely it can't be 40 years already. I won't be able to attend, but hope you'll share my greetings with with everyone.
I must admit that a majority of my happiest teaching days were in Granite Falls. I managed to stick with it for 43 years before retiring to be a grandmother.
I was in Granite for 10 years and at Fuquay Varina High in North Carolina for 33 years. during that time I taught mostly Chemistry and Physics, but also Algebra I, General Math, Physical Science, Earth Science, and Biology. I figured it up one time and I had worked with 4000-4500 students in all. I don't remember them all but have many I do think of often and fondly.
My daughter is an accountant at Apex Tool. She lives next door to us. My older son is doing his medical internship at UNC Hospital. In June, he will move to St. Louis for his residency in radiology. He and his wife have a daughter.
My younger son is the Irrigation and Lighting manager at John Deere Landscaping in Apex, NC. He and his wife have a son.
My husband retired form teaching in the NC prison system. He now works for a RV dealership when we are not traveling. We spend much of the summer in my hometown in South Dakota. We have to be back for an RV show in Early August so we are here all fall and spring. We try to find a warmer place to go in January and February.
Please give my best to everyone. Feel free to share my address and email.
Sincerely,
"Miss G"
