We left Granite Falls in 1970. We spent three years in Hastings, where Neil served as Assistant Principal of the Jr. High School. We moved to Austin, MN in 1973 where I served as a principal / curriculum director until 1998 when I retired. Neil was selected as the MASSP Principal of the year in 1988-89.

Mary served as the Public Relations Director for the Austin Schools for several years, then held a similar position with the Austin Public Library until she retired in 1990.

We have two children: Kim, is a COTA, married and lives near LaCrosse, WI. Jeff, teaches math at Hastings Middle School, is married and has three children.

Both of us are active in Masonic groups: Blue Lodge, Shrine, Order of Eastern Star, etc. Mary is a Past Grand Matron of OES for MN.

During our time in Granite Falls (1966 -1970), Neil was Assistant Principal and Athletic Director. Mary taught Junior English and 7th and 8th Grand Supplemental English,
